Role Overview:
Experienced crane operator responsible for safe and efficient operation of magnetic, overhead, and semi-portal cranes in a steel fabrication environment. Provides guidance to other operators and ensures all lifting activities meet strict safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate cranes according to work orders and supervisor instructions
Conduct pre-operation inspections and complete safety checklists
Perform risk assessments and maintain safe distances from hazards
Guide and mentor junior crane operators on safe practices
Work closely with riggers/signalmen to ensure clear communication
Report hazards and contribute to safety improvement programs
Requirements:
4+ years of experience as a crane operator in shipyards or heavy fabrication
Valid crane operator certification from approved authorities
Primary education + ability to communicate in basic English
Knowledge of lifting standards, safety procedures, and basic troubleshooting
