Qatar Shipyard Technology Solutions is seeking a highly qualified and detail-oriented Electrical Technician to join our dynamic Plant & Maintenance team. This is a specialized role critical to ensuring the reliability and safety of our low-voltage power distribution infrastructure.
About the Role:
As an Electrical Technician, you will be the expert responsible for the operational integrity of sophisticated Low Voltage (LV) electrical systems within our substations and across the facility. Your precision and expertise will directly impact the efficiency and safety of our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform operation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex electrical equipment in substations and power distribution networks.
Maintain and service a range of critical systems including LV switchgear, generators, capacitor banks, and battery backup systems.
Conduct detailed diagnostics and repairs on circuit breakers (MCCBs, ACBs) and related components.
Read and interpret complex electrical schematics and technical diagrams to guide all maintenance and repair activities.
Adhere to strict safety protocols and industry standards at all times.
Your Profile:
We are looking for a technician with deep, specialized experience in low-voltage systems and a proven track record in a heavy industrial environment.
Experience & Skills:
A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in the operation, testing, and maintenance of substation equipment and electrical distribution systems.
Proven expertise with:
Low Voltage (LV) Switchgear
Generators & Backup Power Systems
Capacitor Banks
Battery Chargers & Systems
Molded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCBs) & Air Circuit Breakers (ACBs)
Strong analytical and diagnostic skills for effective troubleshooting.
Proficiency in reading and utilizing electrical schematics.
Qualifications:
A Degree, Diploma, or Equivalent Technical Certificate in the Electrical trade.
