Qatar Shipyard Technology Solutions is looking for a skilled and precise CNC Steelworks Technician to join our production team. This role is central to our steel fabrication division, where you will transform raw materials into critical components for the shipbuilding and heavy fabrication industry.
About the Role:
As a CNC Steelworks Technician, you will be responsible for the entire process of shaping steel, from programming to the final cut. You will operate advanced CNC machinery to produce high-quality parts that meet exact technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Program, set up, and operate specialized CNC profile and plate cutting machines (Kranendonk experience is key).
Interpret technical drawings and specifications to cut and shape steel beams, angles, channels, and plates.
Utilize nesting software to optimize material usage and minimize waste.
Perform basic machine troubleshooting and routine maintenance to ensure continuous operation.
Maintain high standards of quality and precision in all fabricated components.
Your Profile:
We are looking for a technically proficient individual with a strong background in CNC operation within a heavy steel fabrication environment.
Experience & Skills:
Minimum 3 years of experience (with an ITI certificate or Higher Secondary education) or 4 years (with Secondary Education) programming and operating CNC cutting/profiling machines.
Experience in shipbuilding or heavy steel fabrication is essential.
Proficiency in:
CNC Programming for cutting machines
Nesting Software
AutoCAD
MS Office
Strong ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings.
Solid understanding of steel types and profiles.
Qualifications:
An ITI certificate, Trade Apprenticeship certification, or Higher Secondary Education.
